The aura camera I have is a Modified Fuji instant camera (The Aura Camera Store).
It uses a series of circuits and fiber-optics to capture the energy around a person and translate it to a color representing the aura of a person.
That is it's intended use however.

I am finding it a useful tool to experiment with during paranormal activity.
The way I have been using it is to team up with one of the team psychics and take photographs where the psychic senses a spirit or energy present.

In theory, if humans have an aura then energy beings such as ghosts should also possess this energy field.
Since we cannot see it with our limited vision and most of our equipment is not designed to capture it, the aura camera seems like the perfect tool to do so.

My ability to sense auras and being psychic has raised several concerns that has me questioning several aspects of this method of research. One of these questions raised comes from the personal experience that I had when I first started seeing auras.
My "senses" seem to have been heightened by my reiki attunements in which for a period of several days I was able to see auras very easily. In fact, since I did not know much about auras at the time, I did not quite understand what I was seeing until I described in to my teacher and she told me that I was describing an aura. For this heightened period I did notice that auras did not appear to be exclusive to humans. In fact, it did not seem exclusive to animals either, rather all things, trees, plants even seemingly inanimate objects had a very distinct glow to them. Keeping this experience in mind, I wondered if objects in fact did have auras and if this device was able to capture them. So I did several experimental photographs of objects that to me seemed charged with living energy. I photographed art, carved crystals and even blank space. I did find that many of the photographs did show an aura around objects. The main difference I noticed was that even though animals and people had strong auras, objects seemed to have a much fainter glow to them. This lead me to believe that the camera would not be sensitive enough to capture the auras of trees and objects that are not charged with some kind of living energy.

The other opportunity I had with the aura camera, again much thanks to my psychic abilities, is that I seriously feel like you could find a passing spirit in just about any space. I often feel passing spirit and even establish communication with sprits that are not in any given space longer than just a few moments. Not mentioning the interference of spirit guides, guardian angels and passed relative and ancestors who all have the potential to show an aura in unpredictable places. So just because you capture an aura with the camera, does not necessarily determine that a spirit is present.

This is one of the reasons I had decided to not perform as a psychic when taking the photographs, instead to use the observation of another psychic instead, this allows my own beliefs and experiences to get out of the way.

I carried the camera with me on several investigations that provided a potential for a wide variety of environments.

In a woody area outdoors a cluster of children were reported by several psychics on a recent investigation. In this area we walked around and I took several photographs, writing down each one the reason for taking the photograph. Whenever a psychic impression was reported in an area sure enough an aura did appear on the photographs. When I took pictures at random, I got very nice shots of dark woods with not color to them at all.

This was very promising indeed and I was excited to more on.
One of the shortcoming I did notice while working indoors though is that many surfaces on the investigation sites are white. The camera is best used on dark surfaces. But even with this setback, I found that clear, bright color auras were still detectable quite easily on a white surface.

My most impressive piece of evidence was when a non psychic investigator had a personal experience, told me that she felt something by the chair where she was standing.
Since we were at a table, I pulled out a chair and asked out loud for whomever was with us to join us at the table and sit in that chair that I pulled out for him.
I waited a moment to give the spirit a chance to sit down, confirmed with the investigator that she was still experiencing the sensation, then asked her to step away from the chair and took the photo.
A bright aura appeared in the photo.

We waited a few minutes for the sensation to despite and took a second photo when the investigator confirmed that she did not think the energy was there any longer.
The second photograph shows no aura.

This same pattern repeated itself over and over again throughout the investigation. A
At one point I did go outside and took several photos outside of the building as I felt there may be several spirits outside looking curiously in on us wondering what we were doing... the aura camera captured several auras in the path outside even though no reports of activity have been reported outside of the building.

This leads me to determine that the aura camera is for now best used with the collaboration of personal experiences or psychics to help better determine what it is we are seeing the aura of.
This will help eliminate passing spirits and drifting energies.
On it's own I am left questioning the evidence.

My next course of action is to learn in detail how the camera works to better understand what it can and cannot sense and to continue using it in the investigations to help determine patterns and best determine it's usefulness in the paranormal research field.
