South Florida is relatively new and most houses are newly built.
Popular belief is that younger homes and buildings have not been around long enough to have a haunted history like those normally found in older cities as in Europe.
This belief is far from true, though.
In South Florida we have enough history to create many paranormal experiences and haunted homes and buildings.
We have experienced the Seminole wars and a fair share of daily life and emotional turmoil which might contribute to the many people calling the League of Paranormal Investigators for help.
The Cooper City investigation was based on this history and emotional turmoil.
The house we investigated was close to one of the known Indian burial grounds still found in South Florida. Also, the client dealt with personal issues, which might have helped stir up the paranormal activity at this location.
During this investigation we found a large amount of paranormal activity but not enough to declare the home haunted.
The most remarkable evidence we found is in the form of EVP’s and paranormal sounds which sounded like a cat meowing and a baby crying.
None of the investigators part of this investigation reported hearing those sounds and there weren’t any animals or children near or at this location.
The client left us also a friendly testimonial.

The house itself was built in 1991, and the present owners have lived there since the house was built, so there is little history to the house.
However, the lands on which the residential complex lies is less than a mile from the Holatee 2 Native American Burial grounds and has a history of Indian settlers.
The grounds are believed to be Seminole and hold artifacts dating back to 500 AD.
This may attribute to the Indian presences and connections of spirits to the land felt during the investigation.

During this investigation we collected psychic impressions and scientific based evidence.
Our findings are mainly based on the scientific evidence and we did not find enough evidence to declare the property haunted.
Although we cannot classify the property haunted, our investigation showed a high level of paranormal activity.
Psychic Impressions:
We had two psychics on staff and both have reported impressions of a few different spirits present.
One psychic reported the following:
During the initial walkthrough, she reported that the "daughter’s room feels sad and oppressive and that the den is same as daughter’s room".
She sensed a "quiet mourning."
She stated the hallway towards Master Bedroom feels lighter but draining and the Master Bedroom feels neutral.
She reports "The Living room feels like I can’t breathe," and gets an image of a man sitting on the loveseat, watching TV.
In the kitchen she feels "incredible sadness."
Overall, It feels like there is something missing.
She could not shake that feeling all night, holding back tears much of the evening.
She communicated with a presence in the daughter’s room and it likes being acknowledged.
It is male, older, and protective and is especially protective of the daughter.
It seems like a grandfather or a fatherly figure.
She felt a pain in the back of her neck as well, but it went away after she moved from the area.
She received the message, "I miss them".
She feels like the male identifies with the younger girl – believes she is his granddaughter, or possibly niece.
He is tying to get her attention, let her know he still exists.
When she asked him "Why are you here?"
The answer is "same as you," "doesn’t understand why he is not here."
He is aware of being dead, but just not accepting of it.
He sends the messages, "This is not right."
When asked about love, he answered: "Cindy is the love of my life."
When asked if he can see the light, he said "no light, just confusion."
In the Den, she felt a shortness of breath.
She also received the message, "Don’t you wish we could just write on the walls?"
She felt the feeling that if someone left chalk in the room it would be used it to write on the walls.
In the living room, a female presence was felt.
She is described as being older, visits, but stays downstairs, and gives "him" his space.
He comes down and watches TV with her, they sit on the loveseat like they used to when they were young.
She did get a "C" sounding name such as Carol or Carlos.
Not sure if it was for her, him or who they wanted to contact.
She received a message for the family, "I love you and I will always be here for you."
A residual presence was also felt in the house, but is connected to the land.
It is sensed as likely Native American Indian.
When one investigator asked if he was Seminole, the psychic heard a correction on his pronunciation "Se-Mi-Noll," that was very short and stern.
This spirit belongs to the land and does not disturb anyone unless he is asked to do so.
It is a very calming and soft energy.
The psychic received the message "I am not lost, I am not in need, I am free to come and go, this is where I belong. I am with the family."
In the kitchen, she reported a "draining" feeling and stated, "In retrospect I would check for a vortex in this area."
She kept seeing movement on the stairs.
The energy in the kitchen "thinks she (the psychic) is mean."
It doesn’t like to be pressured to communicate.
She also felt the little lady presence come over her shoulder and say "there is nothing in there you know."
"She seemed to have a sweet personality, a slight southern accent, very mellow – playful and helpful."
The other psychic also felt the female presence in the living room, master bedroom and kitchen and felt this presence was protective of the women of the house.
She sensed that this presence does not like men.
She also sensed a presence of a spirit "connected to the land."
She had visions from this presence of heavily wooded mountains and let her know that it liked tobacco.
The psychic recommended leaving an offering of tobacco for the land in front of the house, to be planted in the ground under the tree.
Personal Experiences:
One investigator saw a shadow figure behind another investigator in the Living Room; it was brief but very clear.
That other investigator felt that presence behind him as well, yet the two did not share or communicate this during the investigation.
This was likely the Native American Indian presence.
One investigator was touched twice in the shoulder in the Master Bedroom during a communication with a psychic using a pendulum.
The Psychic told it to "touch someone."
The pendulum at that time was spinning rapidly and flew out of the psychic’s hand just after that.
There were various colds spots being felt and recorded on our digital thermometer.
A drop of temperature of 6 degrees was recorded (from 80° F to 74°F).

Select the evidence type you want to see, or hear, from the following list:
|
|
A high pitch whine, a camera click, then a strange spring sound can be heard until the end of this file.
All the sounds where not heard by the investigators present at that time.
|
|
Investigators are asking questions.
A loud clank is heard on the recording however no one seemed to hear it.
It is followed by a loud clap-then a high-pitch squeal sound.
|
|
This is a long excerpt but there are three distinct voices (or sounds) that are not the investigators and a snapping noise in the middle.
|
|
Investigator says "no is side-to-side," then there is a male voice saying "No."
There is also a strange clicking sound during this recording which cannot be explained and was not heard by any of the investigators present.
|
|
A high pitch whining sound, a camera click, then a strange spring sound can be heard.
The whining sound sounds like a cat meowing and it was heard on several sounds recordings.
There was no evidence of any animal at this location and the sound was not heard by any of the investigators present.
